Five Books We All Need

Yes, I am into self-care…I love the entire self-care movement. I do! Yet self-care, for me, does not always mean a shopping trip, or facials, and trips to the hairdresser. Sometimes it’s as simple as sitting down and reading (or listening) to a book that refreshed your spirit. Here are my five picks of books that set my soul on fire and give me the push to grab life by the balls.

  • Girl Stop Apologizing – by Rachel Hollis. Though I must say, anything Rachel Hollis is pretty much a must-read/listen. Rachel Hollis is a no bullish** powerhouse, that makes no excuses for who she is and she lives in her truth. If you need a swift kick in the butt and a virtual best friend to lift your spirit, this book is the way to go.
  • Atomic Habits – by James Clear. I like to Realisten to this book when I feel like I need a push back to an organized life with a touch of structure.
  • Seven Spiritual Laws of Success – by Deepak Chopra. To say that this book has changed my way of thinking is an understatement. This book allows you a look into why a change of attitude towards life can create major changes in your way of thinking and your approach to success.
  • The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson. I mean if the title does not draw you in, are we even friends? This book keeps its promises…hands down.
  • Unoffendable – By Brant Hansen. Oh how we all need this book! To me, this is a guide to be less offended by simplifying actions and behaviors. Giving up the right to be offended can be incredibly freeing.
  • Friend, do yourself a favor and check at least one of these books out. They are all available in audiobook as well as hardcover and Kindle versions. I like to listen to them when I am in the shower when I am washing dishes, while I am driving, even while working out. Enjoy
